SW Boces Entrance Exam

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi everyone!! I applied to Southern Westchester Boces and I am scheduled to take my entrance exam next Thursday. I am looking for anyone who has attended or has recently been accepted to the school. Or even anyone who knows anything about the test and scores needed in order to get accepted. I'm getting very nervous about the exam and any advice would be appreciated. I am curious to know how students are accepted - what scores are they looking for? Thank you!

Sorry, Full-time day program and can't make it to the intro class. Wish I could :(

Hello Nursestudentpinky,

I was accepted into the part-time day program as well.

I won't be able toattend the intro course either.

look forward to meeting you.

Hello and congratulations to all!!! has anyone purchase their books yet? how is the HW packet coming along??

Hi NurseStudentPinky,

I'll be traveling from Tuckahoe, lower westchester area. Have you purchased your books yet or started the hw assignment?

Hi, I just took the LPN entrance exam on May 29,2014 at 5pm! I'm so excited that I took the first step in taking the entrance exam, my gpa sucks in college and pretty much need a change in my life…I read that the wait for results is about two weeks!!! Well I'm on my second week and am feeling a bit nervous about my acceptance…I just keep telling myself I GOT THIS! I really hope they call me for an interview…I have my outfit ready! I almost missed the exam but there was so much traffic on the Hutchinson Pkwy they extended the begin time. I really feel as if God is on my side or I would have missed my CNET… The exam was three hours, the proctor was thorough and efficient (two thumbs up for her, she even gave me pencils!!!) btw it's paper based so dust off your reading glasses… I prefer paper over computer… They said don't call us we'll call you hahaha...ANYONE ELSE STARTING SW BOCES LPN?

Hi lovelylady27,

I just just took my C-NET exam this morning at Southern Westchester BOCES and I have to say it went by faster than I thought. It honestly wasn't that bad I just wish I had a little more time for the math section. The school looked nice and I really loved how positive one of nursing professors was. She made me feel like I really had a good chance of getting in. Hopefully we get back good news. Did you at least get your results yet and if so do you feel like you have a good chance that you might get a call? I can't wait for it to be my two weeks already just to know where I stand. Good luck and hopefully you get an interview. Also if you don't mind please let me know if you do and how long it was just so I can have an idea of what it might be.

Hey Icaquias! I haven't received my results yet :bag: BUT I feel good about taking the exam…Can't say whether I will receive the call but waiting makes me so anxious, sometimes I doubt myself and most of the time I'm cheering myself on… I feel like the waiting is to prepare you for nursing psychologically because as a nurse we have to reserve patience when dealing with people. Thank you for wishing me luck! We will both keep our fingers crossed!

I know what you mean I am already losing it and it's only been two days. I'm so excited I had to keep myself from buying supplies for school. Hopefully you get a call this week and don't doubt yourself just stay positive. Let me know how everything goes.

I too, am waiting for the test results. I took the exam on May 29th. I think I did pretty good. The Language Arts part had me a little stumped, though.

Hey Danish Desserts

I know they said within 10 business days we should know our results but theses are the longest days I've had to deal with. Are you applying to the full time program or part time? I'm hoping to get into the full time program I'm just nervous on how many more spots are left for it. Well hopefully you get the results this week so you can have an idea of where you stand. Good luck

Hi Icaquias,

I am hoping to get into the day program. Honestly, I don't really see the point of going full-time and receiving a certificate for two years. I know they said that the day program is intensive, but I am ready and willing. Best wishes to you as well - when did you take the test?
