I'm new CNA healthcare worker and I am suspended from my job pending a investigation
I Planned on putting my two weeks in last week when I was told I was suspended Wednesday the day of the accident, but I haven't been able to give it to them and I recently wrote a resignation this Wednesday morning and sent it to my DON. My question is am I in trouble for resigning from my job I know of what happened, it was an accident and miscommunication. My question is am I at risk of losing my license. I'm not trying to slither away from the investigation. It's just I don't want to work there anymore and they have all my information. My address will not change. Neither will my email or my phone number so………
I was Hoyer transferring my resident From them from bed to wheelchair with another experienced CNA and at first the sling was from the view the legs were not criss-cross able under her so we didn't. When we got them up I saw their wheelchair was not in good alignment to transfer them so I went and aligned it, when I came around the chair the other CNA was lowering her and transferring her to the wheelchair. Before I could get to the resident and provide support the resident slides down butt first and bumps her head on the floor. it was a complete accident unintentional and there was miscommunication about the size of the sling. Also I haven't heard anything from hr since last Friday.
……Wait I just saw a voicemail from what looks like my DON, she wanted me to call her back, that she'll be there for a few minutes..... I missed the call by a hour. Am I at risk for loosing my license?
should I have a attorney with me if I call them back and they want me to come up to talk. I live in Omaha, Nebraska.
