Suspended and need advice

Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to start this topic but I really need some advice.

I just started working as a STNA at a nursing home over two months ago. I come in do my job and take care of my residents. I have gotten compliments from the Nurses stating that I am one of the better STNAs that they have at the facility. One told me that I do my work the right way and it seems that I have been doing it for years.

Well I worked last night and while it was busy because we were down a staff member I did my job as I normally do. The only thing really eventful that took place was I had to lower a resident to the floor and get help from my nurse because her legs got weak while transfering her to the toilet. She DIDNT fall I lowered her to a safe position and got help.

The nurse didnt say anything to me except "well **** happens just now we know to do her as a two person next time." After that it was dropped nothing more was said.

We got her in bed cleaned up and went about my night as normal. I got a call this morning around 11am from the DON stating that I was suspended per investigation. When I asked what for I was told that we couldnt discuss that on the phone and for me to come in tomorrow at 11 am to have a talk with her.

So right now I am fustrated because I have no idea what I did wrong. I am afraid that I am going to get fired and not knowing why is really getting to me. I really need this job badly and cant afford to lose it.

The only thing that I can think of was the insident with transfering the resident to the toilet. I cant see why they would suspend me for that if thats the reason. But, besides that one insident I have no other incidents at work or any reason why they would suspend me per investigation.

Just wondering if anyone had advice or if I could get someone elses opinion on this. I really have no idea what I did.

Thank You
