put in my 2 weeks in neighboring district that pays alot more because district, admin, principal, VP and teachers would not let me do my job. they decided that they have medical degrees now and told me who could stay and go home due to possible symptoms. RIDICULOUS. Now, I put in my 2 wks, they are bending over backwards for me..literally begging me to stay that things will be different. It sucks but I have decided that I need to breathe away from the negativity and put my family first and not worry about the financial aspects. It is what it is, and everything happens for a reason. I will be subbing and working closer to home for atleast the next 6 months and will go from there. any suggestions...did I jump too soon???

How long were you there?
This is a bad year to make snap decisions only because everything is so chaotic. People may make decisions that they would never have made last year because...control issues.
However, if your nursing license is on the line - there's never a bad time to bail.

Kudos to you for having the courage to stand up for what's right for you and your charges.
I'm thinking how your facility will respond for the future ...
1) either they will have learned their lesson and allow the NEXT nurse to be the NURSE and practice as she should in these times. Or
2) they'll pull the same old schtick on the next nurse. For them, there's group strength in numbers.
Good luck to you.
