Support group for CRNE June 2011

Published

Hello everyone,

I realize when I had to write my nursing exam how much pressure I experienced about the whole thing. I wrote mine in June 2010 and passed in first attempt but still remember when I walked out the exam, I was not sure what would be the result.

The purpose of this thread is supporting those nursing students who are planning to write their CRNE in upcoming June. Students, please feel free to share your concerns and questions. Nurses please support those students with tips for study.

Just couple of reminders before we get started:

1. Please do not discuss specific questions or any content tested in CRNE.

2. Please read other threads for more information as well. Other threads give you valuable information and be smart and take them into your advantage.

3. Please stay on topic.

4. Please use proper grammar and spelling.

Thank you all.

Do you think they send it alphabetically (last name)?? just curious.

I think it is geographically. My friend is SH, I'm TA, and she got hers today. She is in Oakville I'm in Hamilton - two towns down. Hopefully tomorrow is the day for the rest of us :) Good luck everyone!

I ran out of time and left 42 questions blank, and I didn't pass,I have to rewrite in October, so unfair, I was an 'A' student, was on the Dean's List and completed the Advanced Major, this is so unfair :((( ...any advice? I feel like my life is over and I worked so hard for nothing...

PatW, :( too bad. What did you do for review? (I don't have my results yet, but I finished all questions) I used the Mosbys Comprehensive Review book (blue and orange) as well as the Mosbys book with practice exams. I set up simulated exams for myself and it seemed to help me get into the mindset that I had four hours to complete the exam. (I've always been a fast reader, but I forced myself to slow down). I also found it helpful to section the exam into time frames. For example, I read over the first 2 pages of questions, answered the ones where the correct answer was really obvious and then went back to the ones I wasn't sure of working in time blocks of approximately 15-20 minutes.

That being said, I don't have my results yet so I'm not sure it worked. I did feel confident that I had done my best and I answered all of the questions, so that's all I can really ask of myself.

Good luck in October!

I'm sorry PatW :( I haven't received my results either. Like krmg, I did answer all of the questions and did leave knowing I did my best (even though I certainly wasn't smiling or thinking I aced it or anything). But I studied with Mosby's comprehensive review, CRNE review book, and the two online readiness tests. I found a few repeat questions on the actual exam from things I had come across in the readiness tests and Mosby's. My best advice is to not dwell on questions that are completely foreign. I answered the ones I knew for sure first, and gave my best possible guess for the other questions and put a star beside them. That allowed me to get through the whole exam. Then with the 15 minutes I had remaining I went back and focused on the ones I starred. People always say to never go back and change things but I am positive I changed atleast 5 questions from wrong to right. That's my best advice, but I might be right there with you in October. Best of luck next time!!

Thanks guys xo
