Hey Unnies, I turned to some outside paid resources to help me study.

Specifically I purchased the prep book: ATI TEAS Secrets Study Guide: TEAS 6 Complete Study Manual.

I also paid for a practice test on the
https://atitesting.com/ website.

There's also a pretty good phone app. It's called the ATI TEAS Pocket Prep. It has a free and paid premium version. I didn't pay for the upgrade, but on the free version you have access to a new practice question everyday. They give excellent feedback if you answer incorrectly.

The book was around 25 dollars, and I think the practice test was around 50. They're both great resources, because the practice questions they use are formatted and asked in a way that you could expect to see on the test.

I know these are difficult financial times for everyone, but I would encourage you to look at paid resources. Consider it an investment on your future. If buying and using these tools help you pass the test and get accepted into the program, you'll get your money back when you start working as a nurse.

Hope this helps, good luck and stay safe.

Hi Jonathan N.,

Thank you so much for your response! I'll make sure to look for those resources that you have mentioned, especially the paid resources because I also believe that they are a good investment. I have applied to another school (took the HESI A2 reach) and sadly I didn't get in, they have such high standards for their scores.

Have you started school yet? and did they told you guys anything about clinicals? Thanks again and stay safe as well.

So far we’re scheduled to attend clinical once a week from 7am-2pm. They gave us options for the days and locations that were convenient for us as well. We start on September 1st I believe but our lecture and most of our lab is online due to COVID. I can vouch for everything Jonathan said about the TEAS study material. I also used the Pocket Prep app and paid for an official practice test- it’s worth it! I also watched a lot of Youtube videos. If you don’t know something, write it down and make sure you study it until you know it. The science portion is the most intense since there’s so much to study for, so definitely focus on that. The math section is pretty easy, just be sure to know your fractions, decimal conversions, basic word problem-solving, stuff like that. Definitely don’t skimp on studying for the English and reading section, because while you may think it’s an easy concept, it can be presented on the TEAS a little tricky sometimes. Take your time reading and fully understand what the question is asking- always reread the questions before answering. Good luck and hope this helps!

Thank you very much Cristine!

I appreciate all your tips, and I’ll definitely check pocket prep out because both of you guys have recommended it (and seems to like it!) You guys have been very helpful and I hope everything works out for everyone!

I have another problem LOL

I am in 4 yr college and have applied for their generic BSN program and got recently rejected, thus led me to this group because I wanted to see other options. I could apply again next year, take the HESI exam and give the generic program another shot, but SUNY WCC also offers an exam this October for Spring 2021 admission. **I have finished all of the general ED reqs already and only need the nursing major credits ><**

I am in such a bind you guys and would appreciate any comment or suggestions. Should I wait it out or try for the ADN?

I just took my TEAS today, and only got 82. Should I need to do anything else to get in the school? ( I mean do I need to file any application again with the TEAS score?) Hopefully I can get in too. So nervous!

I got an 81 and I still got in, so you have a good chance. And no, they’ll contact you in around a month to let you know. Just letting you know though, nursing classes are all online and we only get one hour in lab so it isn’t the best learning environment right now. They will most likely allow you to defer until the fall though, as they gave us that option due to COVID. Good luck!

What platform did WCC use for the TEAS? Proctorio/ Proctoru?
