Suny Delhi RN to BSN 1yr online

U.S.A. New York

I was accepted to Suny Delhi and I'll start March, is anyone else in the program or will be starting in March. I work full time and wonder how demanding the program is?

I became a student in the Suny Delhi RN-BSN program last April. What a wonderful program! Courses are 7 weeks long and fully online. I have been taking two courses per session since I began and will finish the program at the end of the summer- just over 1 year since I stated. I can't believe that I am almost finished, it went by very quickly. Students work through the program at a pace which is comfortable to them. Part time, full time, taking elective courses during the summer session only, etc. It's very individualized. The student body is well mixed and many students are working FT as well as completing the program. The online setting is very compatible with my needs as the hours of on ground programs would not have worked with my schedule. I'd taken online courses in other institutions and had not expected the level of individual and profession attention I receive on a daily basis at Suny Delhi. The faculty is highly invested in students and very encouraging and accessible. I hope that you found this response helpful. I was worried that it would be too much when I began as well but found it works fine. I obviously love the Suny Delhi RN-BSN learning experience and hope the same for you.

hi lovelrn, i believe chemistry is one of the pre-reqs. mine is still good from my associates degree. i hated chemistry too, but we do what we have to do, so that we can do what we want to do! i will start this may with an orientation course and a research methods course. i work full-time and have a very active 10-year old, so i am concerned about time constraints, but i really want to do this. good luck to you!! maybe we will have a few courses together. the delhi website is very helpful, so is the coordinator. the $207 per credit, is very good too, since my employer only offers $3000 per year. i have to make the best of this budget.:)

Thank so much for the insight on the Program. I'm currently in the orientation phase and I'm looking forward towards the Nursing courses. I like the part that you can go at your own pace. By the Summer they will be fully accredited.

Hey BigBoy75,

How has your orientation been so far? What is it like?

I like that you can tackle the program at your own pace too, but I don't want to take forever:).

God Bless and Good Luck to You!!

The orientation phase is just getting you familliar with uploading and downloading files, using the online library, and getting you familliar with the APA Format which is a huge part of the program.

Thanks for the info. In that case will I have to take Chemistry prior to enrolling?

It looks like you don't need to worry about Chem, just A&PI+II, micro, psyc and english. All things you should have already completed if you hold your RN. I plan to do this program when I am eligible:-) I hear great things!
