I've been lurking allnurses for a couple of years now and have been amazed that there seem to be no threads about the SUNY Buffalo ABS program. After several years of working towards my bachelors so that I can apply for this program, the time has finally come that my application is in... and still I find that all the UB people on here seem to be hiding!
So... roll call. Any applicants who hope to get into UB as their top choice... any future applicants... current students in the program, or alumni... please make an appearance!
I am especially curious about the stats of people who are applying or were accepted in the past (GPA, work experience, 1st major, etc.) as well as what current students and alumni think of the program.
It is my top choice and has been the one thing I have been striving towards for years now. Needless to say I am terrified I won't get in. I know how competitive public schools have become. Looking forward to hearing from all of you :)
Hello! I am an accepted UB ABS Nursing student starting this may 2012. I am hoping to connect with some other accepted students.
Are there any other accepted students out there for this summer? Are you local, or are you moving from another area? I am from long island moving to buffalo for the 2012-2013 year, I have no idea where I am living as of yet, and I have not recieved my financial aid package.
Have you all finished you prereqs? I am still taking an online Pharmacology course, it is actually quite hard to memorize all these different meds.
Anyway, I am quite excited for this May to come, hoping to see a facebook group soon so we can all discuss more about our impending future! Hope all is well for future UBs!
Hello!
I am looking for some firsthand feedback about the ABS program- how you liked it, how well it prepared you for your first job, etc.
I just finished up my first nursing semester in Trocaire's RN program- did well and really enjoyed it- but I am toying with the idea of applying to the 2014-15 ABS program. I have a BA in Psychology and an MS in Education. Also, would have the luxury of not having to work during the program (which was not the case while at Trocaire and part of the reason I went that direction in the first place).
So, thoughts, advise, pros/cons, etc??
Thank you so much!
