Hello all!
Insomnia hit last night, big-time. Just couldn't turn off brain and fall asleep. I'm sure a nap will be in the cards for me today. Need to hit the grocery store and get a few things done around here.
Dh sent me an AP article about Burning Man's gates being locked to any incoming or outgoing traffic. Apparently there was a death there, and an investigation is ongoing, PLUS they had rain and the playa is a goopy mess. I have never been (and don't plan on attending), but lightly follow this phenomenon of Burning Man -- mainly curious!
Have a good day!
Hi. Weather is overcast, cool, and breezy. I had a tough time cycling home this morning, and my tummy was a little upset. We went to a sidewalk art show yesterday, dh got a Tlingit art print. He got it from an artist who has been creating some nice murals, locally. Then we went in search of lunch and ended up at a tap house by the harbor. I had a margarita in honor of Jimmy Buffett. Then I was so sleepy, I came home and took a nap.
I was reading about Burning Man this morning. What a mess! I've never been inclined to go, but I thought the original idea intriguing "leave no trace". Now, it sounds like a thing for people who have too much money to go make a mess in the desert.
Locally, some people dumped about 15 doodles (poodle mixes), likely from a puppy mill. dh and I are talking about adopting one. It would likely need a lot of training, because they seem to be poorly socialized. I've taken dogs through obedience training in the past, so I'm considering it.
I'm excited for j22 to get a doodle-ish-dog! I live vicariously with ALL y'all's critters! I do! And I spend time looking at dog and cats up for adoption from anywhere---not that I could afford to ship a critter from Timbucktoo (how-ever it is spelled) As a pastime it's half pleasant, and half sad, but I can't help doing it. Long ago I decided, I can only take as many as I can handle, which is, because I have 2 hands, is 2 pets; any mix, but no huge lubber-dubbers tho' I love 'em, they are very expensive galumpers! . Don't care for droolers, either.
Oh well, one of these days... We'll be able to go to a shelter and find maybe a cat and dog who are older but have to be adopted out together because of their bonding history. I'm not sure if I can convince hubby NOT to get a kitten or a puppy, but I am going to try. When the time comes, I will campaign on logic and compassion....not to mention that *I* will be taking care of them!
The Dodgers won over the Braves tonight but not by much. Tomorrow is a day off for them; tonight they are flying back from San Fran to Atlanta.
That's it! It;'s getting late and I must read a BOOK instead of the dreaded blue-screen or whatever. Good-night!

Did bird watching yesterday morning, then came home and did some shopping as I want to bake cookies today as well as muffins. Then had lunch with dad as usual. Watched most of Svengoolie, put in yet another interlibrary loan request, reading a book on Russia but want to get one more focused on the war
Today have church and coffee hour, will be there a bit early as I'm the assisting minister today. Since we now have dates and a location for the family reunion next year I'll probably make my reservation as well. Will also do baking as well as exercise
