Hi Tweety

Stars glad that is has been a rather dull day

NJ22 I gingersnaps are one of my favorites.  Lemon drop cookies sound good

Got out early for bird watching, but no birds to watch and no flowers blooming.  Eventually will get too cold to go out at all, so I'll keep heading out until then.  Later had lunch with dad and then ran a bunch of errands.  Watched a little of Svengoolie

Today will start a crock pot recipe before church, should be done by the time I get home.  Not much else planned for today, just exercise and an online event for the over 50 group.  Was supposed to have have a coffee meet with this group this morning but it got cancelled

Going to be a bit warmer today, up to about 60

Good morning!

We're having our nice seasonal weather here.  It might make it up to 80, currently sunny and gorgeous at 76.  By Friday a "cold" front is moving through and it won't get out of the 60's.

I'm processing the death of a patient I took care of on Friday.  She had a good day and a good visit with her estranged mother she hadn't seen in 10 years that came down from New York.  She had a lot of problems related to IV drug use and vegetation on her heart valves even after open heart surgery to replace the valves and being intubated for over 10 days.  I feel bad for her mother who at least had what I felt was a nice visit and was hopeful she could get her act together.  Of course I'm doing the "what did I miss?" dance and can't figure it out.

Went to hot yoga today and really have plans only to do some laundry and clean the bathrooms and get ready to drive to North Carolina tomorrow.  The dog sitter staying wants to use my bathroom because it's a walk-in shower, so I want to make sure things are clean.

Poor G had my shower curtain in the guest bathroom fall on him when he put his shower mats on it and broke it.  He got a new one while I was out but apparently was very vocal and unhappy about the process.  Oh well...it's been working since 1996 and is rarely used.

Momo barked me awake at 7 AM, and I found Nannie coming up the stairs....she had reached the 1st level and was almost about to walk up the second set of stairs to the bedrooms. I told her she was NOT supposed to be climbing the stairs, and that we'd have to turn her around and go back down into the den. As I was supporting her, she said "I don't think I can do this." I told her not to think and just take one step at a time. I got her back in the recliner  I was still very tired, and aching more places than not, so I put her breakfast tray on her lap and told her I was going back to bed. When I got up at 11:30 AM,  she was still in the chair and sound asleep with the tray in her lap. So, at least she didn't try climbing out over the footrest again. I have repeatedly told her if she keep doing that it would break and she'd not be able to sit with her legs raised. As if I expected her to remember. When I got her up I made her smile and clap her hands when I brought one of her favorite outfits into the bathroom to get her dressed.

I am drinking coffee and still not feeling awake. Momo is cuddled into her 'clam-shell' bed, Nannie is squinting out into the back yard. I am going upstairs to make another cup of coffee. Hopefully my meds will take over and the aching, especially in my knees, will subside.

Nothing planned for today. This next week, I have to pinch my pennies until they scream bloody-murder, because my SS check doesn't arrive until next Monday (not tomorrow). Oh well, what else is new?!

Everybody stay well!

BiL brought us over supper from their house....baked potatoes and chili-bean soup. (Quite good, and still hot enough to not require re-heating!)

SiL is going to come over in the morning to shower and dress Nannie, then she has to go to work. Her appt for her hip and lower back pain is on Thursday; she might get a sequence of some shots so insurance can see if it will work, but most likely will have to make another appt. if there is going to be a possible procedure in the works.

CG comes on Thursday, so I have 5 whole entire hours to myself this week. It seems that the more respite is promised, the LESS help I get.

grumble-grumble. Oh well, what the f.

Hello all!

Safe travels, Tweety.  Sorry about the patient death, I think we all know about the time it takes to process certain ones.

Joe, what did you make in the crock pot?  Too bad no birds or flowers are out.

No Stars, yeah, one day at a time...  Glad you were able to get Nannie back down the stairs; her taking the stairs is definitely a NO-NO!

We had a quiet day yesterday, and then watched White Christmas as we ate supper.  Today we had band practice at 1:30, then went out to dinner/supper at 4:30.  It was a good practice, preparing four Christmas songs for a Dec. 14 Sabbath School program.  We narrowed down what songs we will be doing, and got some practice in (we played a lot more songs than the four we decided on!).  Now to work on them and meet again a couple times before time to do them.

I made reservations for Thanksgiving day, we will meet with oldest ds and two other friends.

It's COLD outside -- but weather app says it's 56!  I know that doesn't seem cold to those who live in a colder climate, but our blood is pretty thin, and it's cold to us!

Have a good evening!
