Stars I am sorry to hear about your brother's death, it was good he was able to be in hospice near the end

Hi Dianah, Stars, and sirI

Tweety hope your next shift is less of a mess

Ado have heard of automatic litter boxes but have never had one

Was inside most of yesterday due to the snow.  Only went out twice, once to a local coffee shop and once to a local candy store.  And I stayed in during the evening when the snow was the heaviest

I did get a lot done.  Did the cooking for the week, did some laundry, completed the shopping list for next week, and exercised.  Also watched part of the movie 1917, which was OK but too slow for me, and all of Judas and the Black Messiah, which I found more interesting

The snow has stopped, though the roads aren't yet cleared.  If the road are reasonable I'll go to church.  In the afternoon will be meeting my friend N for lunch, roads should be cleared by then

Going to be in the mid 30s today

Good morning!

Good morning.  I never saw 1917 but it was critically acclaimed and I think up for Best Picture Oscar.  I did see Judas and the Black Messiah and really liked it.

Waffles never woke me up this morning.  Got up on my own at 7:30.  It seems her right eye is giving her some issues.  She squints and was rubbing it and cried when I put her drops in last night.  Today she took her drops well and seems to be squinting less.  She has an ophthalmology appointment on Dec. 8th but may see if I can bump it up if she persists.  Always something.

I scheduled hot yoga at 11:00 as I didn't feel like rushing to the 9AM class.  Apparently next month they are dropping the 11:00 AM class and changing it to something else.

Otherwise nothing much going on.  I washed the sheets.  The excitement.

I really don't remember much about what I did yesterday except being on-line talking at intervals with my sister and our younger brother. It exhausts me to think of all the paperwork and 'detective work' she is having to take care of long distance. I know that it took several months to get things straightened out when hubby died. They don't make it easy!  It made me realize I really should get my will changed PRONTO so step-dgt doesn't end up with everything of Nannie's and mine. I can't imagine a worse outcome. Even before we moved down here 9 years ago, she was on-line trying to find what kind of $$$,$$$ she would get from the house and property; hubby was disgusted with her and her attitude, as am I ! And need I say, we haven't heard a peep from her in over a year now, since her plans seem to (to her) have fallen through already. She did tell hubby that "If Stars gets it, it will all be gone by the time she is done, and I won't get anything." How perceptive of her. I didn't intend to squeeze her out of anything back then, but I do intend to do so now. Thank goodness BiL and SiL said they would pay for the lawyer to re-do my will; several years ago it was $500, so who knows what it'll cost now; but it is coming out of Nannie's 'stash', whatever that might be.

At least three to four times every day, yes, including on the holiday and today which is Sunday....I am getting those "Hello, we are reaching out to seniors who may not be getting full use of their benefits from Medicare." I believe it is the hoax and scam that is currently circulating, which I've read about in several places. I just hang up, because the one time I tried to interrupt, I realized it was a taped message and no one was listening;  if I had continued listening, I probably would have heard the recording to tell me to press a button to be transferred to an "agent". No dice, I ain't a'doin' it! There's all kind of skunks working the phone hard these days.

I got up early, took my meds, fed the dog and went back to bed. When I woke up and was getting dressed, Tinker started doing her high-pitched "alarm!" bark, running up and down the stairs. Next thing I know, I see Nannie starting to come up the second set of stairs, so I hollered to her, "Go back down to your chair and I will be down in a minute!" I figured if she could climb the first set of stairs, she could go back down just as easily, to sit and wait for me. She didn't tumble back down.  When I came down to the den she was sitting in her chair, with her head turned around to watch my progress. I took her to the bathroom where she sits on the commode while I get her dressed. Did she take advantage of being ON the commode to 'take care of business'? Nope. Ya have to ask her if she feels like she had to pee or poop, and if she says 'no', continue getting her dressed, take her to the chair and go up to fix her breakfast and grind up her meds to put in pudding. She can't swallow a pill, so we put it in pudding,,,,,,she STILL chews up what pieces of pill didn't turn to powder then it was in the pill crusher, but never complains of the bitter taste. Then she said, 'I have to go....in there." Never says "bathroom"or "toilet", never says "pee" and is incapable of saying the word 'Poop". Once seated again on the toilet, she asked me what I wanted her to do. (DUH!) She pushed out something the size of a corn-cob, although she didn't even KNOW she had until I had her lean forward so I could clean her hind end, and remarked "I guess you really DID have to go!" When she finally stood up and looked in the toilet bowl, she said, "GOOD LORD!" 🤣

Nannie has her eyes closed but she is not really sleeping. When my cellphone rang, and I answered it,  she immediately asked who it was, what did they want, and what did they say? Like it is any of her business. But I told her it was just a scam call and unfortunately then I had to explain what a scam call was. Being as she is so out of touch with the 'real world'. I try to keep things simple, for all the good that does!

Like, last night we had to watch a different TV station for news, because "our" station had a football game going on.....and after the first headline story was read by the news guy, she looked at me and said in a shocked voice, "He's BLACK!" I said, "You don't MEAN it!" and she assured me she did...."Just look!" she says, like I hadn't been watching the TV the whole time. 🙄 OY!

It is in the mid-40's, cloudy, cold, and starting to drizzle a little bit. The big storms is going North and East of us and we just get a side-swipe of wetness. We could really use the rain, but Mother Nature does her own thing, doncha know.

Okay, so I am going to stop here for now. Hope everyone's weekend is tolerable!

Size of a corncob you say.  OMG

I should be so lucky.  Had to take Imodium today.  Just not getting better and being strict with FODMAPS does not seem to help.  Wonder when it will finishing "running its course" or is this my life from now on.  Bleh

I think Waffles was being a drama queen last night and was just fussing.  But definitely something going on with that eye.  Fortunately because they are an ER and open 24/7 I was able to get the receptionist to schedule an appointment with an ophthalmologist tomorrow.  That's a relief.

Called to leave a message with the air conditioning people who are coming in tomorrow for a routine inspection to cancel and someone picked up and I was able to change tomorrow's appointment to Tuesday.

It's weird in that it feels like Saturday to me.

I went to Whole Foods and had as Low FODMAP a lunch as I could because I needed to get a few things.  Forgot oranges but have a couple of grapefruits I can eat.  I think I'm allow 1/2 of one at a time.  Ugh......

It's a sunny, cool day here. We had a mild frost last night. The leftovers are nearly gone.  I suppose we shall need to have a real meal for dinner tonight, which means a trip to the store. I took the dogs for a walk, and tripped and fell, but landed on my hands and knees, instead of my face, as I did last year. Skin is intact, and I'm avoiding looking at my knee, LOL.

Yesterday was cold in the morning, when I rode to breakfast and then took a longer route home. I passed a fellow riding a tricycle down the road, with a leash attached to a beautiful , shaggy-haired German Shepard. They were going at a pretty good pace. We rode side by side, for a few minutes. I admired his dog, he liked the lights on my bike. We both agreed that cars should stay at or below the speed limit and give us cyclists some room. My face and knees were still with cold when I got home.

There's been lots of football on TV this weekend. The UW Huskies lost to the hated U of Oregon, but the Seahawks are winning, so far. I am going to go outside and do a little clean up, then run to the store. It would be easier to decide on a meal if dh and I liked the same sort of food. Sigh.
