Good morning!
Joe, hope you enjoy your coffee date. I've always been a "friends first" kind of person but it's been a while since I've been on the apps.
Fingers crossed that antibiotics due their trick. I know a lot of people have issues with them but for me the side effects are tolerable so far. I do seem to be on the mend but I've thought that before. LOL
I'm going to take a chance and go to hot yoga. I haven't been since the food poisioning started and worse case scenario there's a bathroom there. Bad news the bathroom is in the classroom itself. LOL
Anyway, going to make some sort of tofu stir fry for dinner.
Have a great day!
It's morning again. It is 94 degrees at present, going to go up to 100 degrees and the humidity is 66%.....with a chance of rain standing at 2% today as opposed to 1% of yesterday. Also, the 'feels like' is going to be a balmy 111 degrees.
Tinker woke me up at 9:30 AM, licking my face; I had no choice but to get up and get dressed. I took her out to the usual back and front yard walk, The first time she did nothing at all except sniff whatever might have walked through the yard over night. Then I felt like since she was restless after coming back from the 1st walk, we probably needed to go out again. This time we walked half the walk before she pulled up to pee. And though she's had her breakfast, I guess it hasn't worked through to the lower tract.
SiL just came over to get Nannie up, showered, dressed, and fed. Nannie's nephew's child (woman, really) is coming to SiL's house to visit with Nannie, who she hasn't seen in several years. I reckon that might be an interesting visit.....one from which I have blessedly been excused! I don't know how long Nannie will be there over there, but long enough that I can run out and get the yogurts and dog food that somehow keeps 'disappearing' ...... just MHO about that; it isn't being 'taken', it just seems the days go by so quickly, we run out sooner than I'd expect in a week or week and a half. And I also have to get my refill at the Wally-World pharmacy. I wonder when my 'day off' won't require wifely chores? Oh well, at least I woke up breathing this morning, so that's a good thing.
Tinker wants to go out again. Maybe she "has to" but I am trying to put it off until this sweat from the last round outside in the yard has dried off, and SiL and Nannie have left. Then I'll cool off a third time and head to the store. Wheeeee! (not.)
Oh! I found a different kind of harness in the collection that my friend from Florida sent me with Momo. This one goes on the front legs only, not the head (no collar portion to it), and fastens at the shoulder blades. and is MUCH easier for me to take off. I can hardly pinch the two sides of the plastic snap-thingy because my fingers are so weak, but this one is not such an ordeal, thank goodness!
Okay, the third outing didn't produce anything from Tinker's butt end, so I am going to go to the store, and if she does some biznezz while I'm gone, so be it.
Hi, mild day here, up to 72, slight breeze. I spent some time yesterday volunteering with the Master Gardener group, helping to display many of the various day lilies grown at the demo garden. Then we went over to the yearly community celebration called Old Settlers, in its 129th year. We checked out the vendors, got some food, peeked into some of the restored log cabins on site. I took a long nap when we got home. I haven't been sleeping well due in part to an incredibly itchy rash I have on my legs. I think they are insect stings. The only thing that helps is spray on benedryl, alternating with cold packs. Today is a little better.
I went to dd's house to sit with eldest grandson to help him stay focused on his Summer school chemistry course, while she finishes with moving out of her home. Her landlord chose not to renew her lease, so she is moving into her ex's house, and he is in an apartment closer to his work. This is so the kids won't have to change schools, and they were already living 1/2 time at his house. Anyway, I hung out there for a couple of hours, now I'm home, doing some laundry and trying to stay awake. The dogs woke me about 3 am to go out, and then started barking their heads off and wouldn't come in. I had to go out and scold them to come in, and stepped in dog waste. It was hard to get back to sleep after that. I have no idea what they were barking at--could have been deer, possums, raccoons, ghosts, none of which I wanted to confront.
Stars, would it be easier and or more economical to buy just a large carton of yogurt and give Nannie a scoop for her meals? I've suggested this to dh, but he prefers a variety of flavors. And we go through a lot of those, too. I don't dare mention saving money as he seems to think this is an insult.
I think some antibiotics are worse than others. I've had to take doxycycline a couple of times and it didn't seem to have any ill effects.
I have taken Tinker on a full yard walk 7 times today, even in the ridiculous temp and humidity. I wouldn't do that for just anybody!
SiL sent supper home with Nannie; I didn't have to cook, only reheat the home-made lasagna, and it was goo-oo-oo-d!
Almost her bedtime. Whew! She goes to daycare early in the AM (SiL will take her).
I have an appt with the eye doctor on Tuesday, BiL will sit with Nannie. Tinker has an appt at the vet's on Wednesday, when Nannie-person is at daycare again.
I got a dog bed for Tinker, to go on the sofa. Nannie told me that she (Nannie) couldn't use it. I told her she couldn't fit in it if she tried. Then she asked, "Well, where am I going to sleep?" And sadly, she was serious. I reminded her the bedroom is on the other side of the wall behind me. Last night when I walked her to the bathroom, she started to turn into the bedroom. then coming out of the bathroom today I said, "to the bedroom where the bed is" and she turned into the den, saying "In here?" I said, pointing to the recliner, "Is that a bed in there?" ......Nannie: "Well, I don't know! How am I supposed to know that?" {I did NOT say, "What's your best guess?"}
🎼🎵🎶 "Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin' into the future..." and right out of Nannie's brain.

Tweety I hope the antibiotic side effects remain mild
Stars I can understand wanting to simplify meal prep, I've been trying to do the same
Skipped bird watching due to all the predicted rain, which didn't turn out to be as bad as expected. Did cooking instead, and ran errands, then had lunch with dad as usual. Then went to the Italian place with the over 50 group. 2 more people signed up so we had a total of 5, but only 3 of us actually showed up. Was OK, although the restaurant was a little loud for conversation
Today have to get to church early to usher. Then will head into the city to have coffee with a potential new friend I met through an app. Hopefully won't have any issues with the trains this time. Have to say, have had considerably more success since switching from finding dates to finding friends on apps. Will exercise tonight, but otherwise should be quiet
Will be warmer today, in the upper 80s, might rain this afternoon
