Since SiL didn't get Nannie up and dressed until after church, I just stayed in bed. Next thing I knew it was 12:45 and BiL was at the foot of the stairs talking to me (about the bookcase he is painting for me, and that he would be bringing my check over soon.). I decided it was probably a good time to get up, so I did. So far all I've done is pick up all the used pee-pads and put down dry/clean ones. I may do the dishes. I may gather the trash because all the wastebaskets seem to 'go forth and multiply'. Other than that, I think I am doing NUFFINK! Right now I am doodling on- line and watching a re-run of a re-run on HGTV. I was hoping there would be an old movie I would enjoy watching, but alas... (PS-FYI: 'doodling' around on-line is what most refer to as 'scrolling')
Tomorrow SiL will get Nannie up earlier and take her to daycare, so *I* will (or plan to) get up early myself, and hope to whirl around doing numerous tasks which actually SHOW a difference in the messy parts of the house that are annoying me.
My life is so exciting and engaging. (Yuh, 'tis.)
I got all the trash gathered and out to the bins, I washed the dishes, but before I got to the silverware....SiL drove into the backyard for the Nannie-Drop-Off. I heard Momo bark and looked out the window and .....I have to confess, I CUSSED!
So, when SiL comes to get her in the morning, I told her to wake me up so I could have the morning and afternoon hours to do some conscientious cleaning.
Fortunately, they were out all afternoon, both of them getting their mani's and pedi's. It took almost THREE HOURS, she said! Afterwards, they went to eat at a diner/restaurant. So, at least I don't have to make anything for Nannie's supper. Nannie saw SiL's car out back and said "Are we ready to go?" SiL had to tell her they had been already been out for the past 5 or 6 hours, and she was going to go home and REST. But she made Nannie a cup of decaf before she left, because Nannie saw me drinking a cup of coffee and wanted some. In an hour I will crush her meds and dish 'em up on a spoon of pudding. Last night she drank 3/4th's glass of juice trying to get her one pill, a stool softener, down. ONE PILL! When she was through eating last night, I picked up her tray and saw that little red pill sitting there. I said, "I thought you told me the pill went down after you took it." She just giggled. I said, "Don't come to me the next time you have a problem with pushing out extra-large, extra cement-like Poop." She laughed again, and I muttered "You must like me sticking my finger up your butt to get those boulders of poop to move out." Well, she said she didn't; like gee, NO KIDDING, Nannie! She never has a problem with swallowing the pills when SiL gives them to her. I did everything SiL she said she did when giving her the mediss, but no dice. 😖 It burns me to see she has taken any pills out of her mouth because she 'can't' swallow them. And I stand there until she can stick out her whole tongue so I can see there are no pills any longer 'glued' to her tongue. And yet, that small, slick pill was still somewhere in there, in her mouth.
BLAH.
Hello!
It's been a quiet weekend. I watched the 2019 remake of Little Women, it was very well done, but I didn't like how it skipped back and forth in time segments -- it didn't follow the book linearly (is that a word?). It was still good, though!
Today we have RAIN!! It's a light rain, and started around noon. Should continue, on and off, till tomorrow. When I went out to the grocery store for a few things, I spotted a smidge of a rainbow to the east. It's not real cold here, but I know the local mountains are supposed to get 12-18" of snow.
OH! The eagle cam at Big Bear Lake revealed we have TWO new eagle eggs, the latest appearing yesterday around 5pm! Last year the eagle pair, Shadow and Jackie, produced THREE eggs, but none of them hatched. So, it is possible she may lay one more egg in the next three days. They are great parents, sharing egg-sitting duties and bringing fish for each other to eat. It's so sad when, after all that careful attention, the eggs don't hatch. Here's hoping this clutch (whether two or three) will hatch, after the incubation period.
NSIME, that's so weird, that Nannie will take her pills for SiL but not always for you! Naughty Nannie! I hope you got a few things done, enough to feel you accomplished something. Yes, the household duties are never-ending!
Joe, it sounds like you have a busy day arranged. What did you end up cooking and baking?
Tweety, enjoy your new laptop!
Have a good evening!
I put tonight's stool softener in the AM pills, since SiL has better luck getting her to take the meds with no problems. So there, Nannie, take THAT! 😊
I wish I could've recorded the ten straight minutes of Nannie explaining to me what was going on, on the TV,,,,which was the end of the news, being a football story that I muted, and when a commercial came on, she was still thinking it was part of what she was telling me about. Some people who were picnicking in a park, and they were some of the folks that were kicked out of the stadium during the football game......for what reason I do not know! I just let her rattle on and kept nodding my head until she ran down and either finished her explanation or forgot what she was saying.
I may stay in and work in the house tomorrow instead of going out to get my nails done, like I was thinking. They are in awful shape, but I know I'd feel better if I could actually make a dent in The House That Stars Tries To Straighten Up (not to be mixed up with "The House Of The Rising Sun").
I wanna put Nannie to bed. She keeps crossing and uncrossing her ankles, and CONSTANTLY fiddling with her sleeves. I have to keep my head turned more to the right towards the TV screen so I can't see her in my peripheral vision.
Yeah, yippeee! Nannie just said she wanted to go to bed, so I helped her and now Momo and I are up in our room. WHEW!

Yesterday was busy. In the morning attended a new coffee meetup with 2 other people from the over 50 group. Had a nice time. Then had lunch with dad as usual. Then had a pizza restaurant meetup with the over 50 group that evening that I was hosting, also went well. Came home and relaxed and watched a little of Svengoolie
Today will be ushering at church, will have to get there early as the service is moved up an hour to accommodate the congregational meeting. Going to skip that as I find them kind of pointless. Rest of the day will be busy, doing some meal prep, baking, and some clothes shopping and laundry
Will be cooler today only up to about 30, but much better than it was last week
