Stars it sounds like you were quite productive

NJ22 we used to grow asparagus at our old house

Ado I hope you feel better

Dianah that sounds like an interesting day

Tweety I hope  your next shift is better

Did not do bird watching yesterday as it was cloudy cold and quite windy with occasional snow/sleet.  So instead I did some cleaning and some errands, then went off to meet the environmental group.  Smaller crowd than last time due to the weather,  although it had improved a good bit  by then.  Cut back elmwood dogwood and willow near a stream.  Came home to relax and watch Svengoolie

Today will be the assisting minister for our Palm Sunday service.  Will start a crock pot meatloaf beforehand.  After the service will meet dad for lunch.  Rest of the day should be pretty quiet

Think it will get up to almost 60 today, no rain or snow

No clouds at all; breezy, 66 degrees.

I swept up all the seeds on the patio and moved the bird feeder 'outta sight'. I was po'd the entire time I was doing it. I knew she was sitting there in her recliner watching me.  I couldn't get every single seed up, but I hope that what I did will suffice for her stupid majesty. She was pretending to sleep but kept taking peeks at the floor while I was vacuuming the den.

We have a nurse and or an administrator coming at noon tomorrow to assess Nannie. LET US PRAY she is found acceptable and that there is a bed there for her. Then the big search will be on for whatever health and financial papers she needs to complete the admission process. We gotta get her outta here! Please, oh please, please, please, please, please! I want her placed and moved more than I want hubby to stop drinking, so you KNOW I really want her elsewhere!

So, I gotta go to the store again, as I am out of coffee AND birdseed. Also have to get the big packages of Nannie's disposable products. It seems that no matter how often I get the pads, etc, they are gone in a New York Minute.

Well, I better stop grousing and get going.

Later, y'all!

Another cold, damp day. The rain stopped long enough for me to get out on my bike for the short ride to the diner for breakfast. Boy, that felt good, if chilly. I had my usual plain waffle and a single piece of crispy bacon. My GI tract continues to be in turmoil since the procedure. Doc put me on a high dose of omeprazole and maybe that is causing issues. I am supposed to stay on it for 5 more weeks. Urp. I just finished cleaning up the kitchen. There was quite an accumulation of dishes (clean and dirty), food, mail, pens, and whatnot on the counters. And the range top was just plain gross. I may not have any fingernails left, but things definitely look better. I was inspired to pull some clothes out of the closet for the donation pile.

Dh is going to make potato and leek soup for dinner. And least that is the plan. I have a feeling I am going to be involved with this.

I'm back from the stores, whoopdeedooo. Hubby is upstairs sleeping on his bed. Nannie is in her recliner. After I got the birdseed I went over to where we used to feed them, and dished it out. So far Nannie has mentioned  5 times that there are an awful lot of birds coming to the patio and back steps.

Each time, I told her that I could. not. get. up. every. single. seed. Also since the birds are used to coming to the patio to eat, they will have to get out of the habit and I don't know how long they will take to get the idea that this is not the feeding station  any more.

Before I went to the store, hubby asked what I was going out to get.....and I said ALL of Nannie's absorbent products. She had her eyes shut, so when I said I was going to get birdseed, I made a face at her and stuck out my tongue. She didn't see me. And THEN hubby said to me, "WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO UGLY?" Shocked me! Well I said nothing at the time, but the next time he lays in to poking at her, teasing her, and talking to her in an obviously "ugly" tone of voice when he is irritated with her for not speaking up loud enough for him to hear her....

NOW she is wondering why there is no bird food out there for the birds. "I've never seen so many birds out there" and wondered if she should put some foo out for them. I told her "NO." and explained again WHY the birds are out there. They are looking for food, which is across the yard now I was not very serene when I said it. She said, "Well, I'm sorry I messed things up." I told her I was just doing what she said to do yesterday. I said I would close the drapes so she wouldn't have to see all those birds. "Oh, no, you don't have to do that."

Oh gawd. Hubby is in the den explaining to Nannie about how a nurse is coming over tomorrow to check her out and do some tests. He says she "has to do it or she (Nannie) won't have any supplemental health insurance any more." -----(!???)

I really don't think he understands about all that is involved. He's talking like she "might have to stay overnight." But, for cryin' out loud, I really don't think they are going to admit her tomorrow! Now he is saying that we'll help her pick out her pajamas and an outfit or two because "they might want her to stay for a couple of nights." She said, 'someone' told her that this room behind the den is for her.  It IS her room, but 'just in case they have to do some other tests' ......to ME, the more he talks the fishier it sounds.

Now she is pouting. But I have to go upstairs and get supper out of the oven, so see yez laydah~

Nannie likely won't remember anything he said, except that he threatened her. I wouldn't have told her anything, just introduced the nurse when she arrived. I think Mr. Stars thinks they are bringing a van to scoop her up, like some bad '50s movie.

Stormy out. I kind of like it as long as it isn't dangerous. Definitely feeling better. The abx are having the usual side effects but I can deal with that for a few days. Hubs went to church to sing with the choir this morning so I had the pleasure of getting Gma changed and fed. She's in a bad mood today, gets mad at the television. Seriously. The Munsters was on and Lily did something Gma didn't like. "I don't think women should do that." "The women are nasty"

Twin B is starting to complain of a sore throat. I guess it wouldn't be a surprise if one or more family members got sick. But I hope not.

The emeals meal for today was bruschetta pork chops with mashed cauliflower. The cauliflower was good although of course Hubs would prefer potatoes. Not so sure about the bruschetta topping for the pork chops. Hubs was not a fan. I could probably tweak some ingredients and we'd like it better.

Speaking of which, I haven't seen Twin A come out to eat. Often we do all sit at the table together but not always.
