I'm not sure that these family practices would be willing to take on more salary in order to do something that volunteers can do. I would suggest looking into a caregiver role at an LTC or assisted living facility. That will give you a much nicer looking resume because you will actually be performing patient care.

I am looking at trying to jet a job in a family practice or pediatrician's office this summer. Obviously it would just be a job assisting around the office. Therefore, I am going to contact larger family or pediatric offices as they might be more likely to hire someone for that. Any ideas of what I could offer to do? I thought about probably taking patient information and keeping the exam rooms stocked. Looking for other ideas that I could offer. I am very interested in this as I want to get practical experience and strictly volunteering is not an option as I need to have some cash on hand throughout the year (I am entering my senior year of undergrad, not for a BSN but in biology/biochemistry as I plan on hopefully doing a direct entry MSN). If I had to chose between regular family practice or pediatrics, I would love to do pediatrics as I love children (I substitute teach part time throughout the school year too). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
