Summer Volunteer?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi! I'm a community college student that will eventually apply to schools. My question is how helpful would volunteer work be in the admission process? I live near a hospital and might try to see if I could get some volunteer work it it would be helpful to the admission process on top of a summer class.

Here is the description:

The Eden Medical Center Auxiliary is now taking applications for volunteers over the age of 18 who would like to assist patients and visitors at our Information Desk, in our Gift Shop or as part of our Family Support Service working in the Emergency and Trauma Departments. There are many different shifts and areas of responsibility currently open. If you love to help others, have a passion for health care, and enjoy a warm and caring environment, we invite you to join us.

Is it worth applying for?

Yes! Glad you made this post because I was just looking up volunteering at my local hospital. I apply for nursing school in February and think it would benefit you in having volunteer experience whether the school requires it or not.

If I don't apply this summer, I def. will apply during fall semester. Good luck.
