Summer 2018- UT Health Science center pacesetter BSN program

Published

Hello Everyone,

I am preparing myself to apply for Summer 2018 pacesetter BSN program. We can use this forum for Summer 2018 applicants. I am in the process of taking Hesi exam. I have completed all my prerequisite courses needed for the program.

Little bit about me:

BS in Microbiology in 2005 -GPA (3.05)

MPH degree in Epidemiology in 2012-GPA (3.85)

Associate degree of Science in 2017-GPA (4.0)

Hesi test-will be taking it in August

Working full time with City Health department as an epidemiologist specialist since last five years. I am also a mom of two boys.

Got accepted to MUSC college of nursing program but declined it. Also got accepted to Johns Hopkins Entry into Masters of nursing program for Fall 2017 but had to deffer it to Fall 2018 due to financial circumstances.

Trying to apply for the in-state school due to affordable tuition as well as easy commute.

I really hope i can get into UT Health Science center pacesetter program as it's my first option as it's closest to me as well as it's affordable and one of the best programs in Texas.

Looks like today is not the day ))))):

Either way don't you need to have your prerequisite ? Even if you got your ADN and wanted to get your BSN you still need the pre reqs. That's what I was told. So hopefully it wouldn't be a waste of time and money

To get into HCC Coleman you don't need as many prerequisites. I think a lot of the prerequisites we've done to get into a BSN program are covered in an adn program. So you wouldn't have to go back and take more prerequisites if you decide to go to an RN-BSN program.

I could be wrong I haven't looked into ADN programs too much since I've planned from the beginning to get into UTHealths pacesetter BSN program

Might be a little too late for some, but UTH has pushed back the Fall 2018 deadline to March 15th.

This is annoying

I knew there was a chance we wouldn't hear anything today but I really put my hopes up!

Greetings! I am seeking an advice. I just took TEAS yesterday; here are the results:

Overall 86

Reading 74.5

Math 96.9

Science 87.2

English 87.5

While taking the reading part, I did not pace myself correctly and ended up running out of time before I was able to complete last 4-5 questions. Now I am contemplating if I should retake the test just to boost my reading score.

If it was you, would you retake it considering the good performance on other parts of the test and overall score?

Honestly thats a really good score! I was just admitted to UTMB class of Fall 2018 and here are my stats for the TEAS. Nursing schools probably look more at the science score and you did very well there!

Overall 84.7

Reading 88.4

Math 93.8

Science 77.6

English 76

Thank you for the feedback! So you were accepted to UTMB without interview ? That's awesome! Congrats!

fingers crossed for today!
