Summer 2018- UT Health Science center pacesetter BSN program

Published

Hello Everyone,

I am preparing myself to apply for Summer 2018 pacesetter BSN program. We can use this forum for Summer 2018 applicants. I am in the process of taking Hesi exam. I have completed all my prerequisite courses needed for the program.

Little bit about me:

BS in Microbiology in 2005 -GPA (3.05)

MPH degree in Epidemiology in 2012-GPA (3.85)

Associate degree of Science in 2017-GPA (4.0)

Hesi test-will be taking it in August

Working full time with City Health department as an epidemiologist specialist since last five years. I am also a mom of two boys.

Got accepted to MUSC college of nursing program but declined it. Also got accepted to Johns Hopkins Entry into Masters of nursing program for Fall 2017 but had to deffer it to Fall 2018 due to financial circumstances.

Trying to apply for the in-state school due to affordable tuition as well as easy commute.

I really hope i can get into UT Health Science center pacesetter program as it's my first option as it's closest to me as well as it's affordable and one of the best programs in Texas.

I go to Sam Houston and they have a gpa calculator for pre-nursing classes. All the classes are the same except for college algebra but that could count as an elective. Also if you just enter the four science classes at the top, that is your science gpa.

So they need 2 electives is that considered too?

I'm confused on the course evaluations. I just received one and I know I read somewhere that just cause you get one doesn't mean you necessarily got in, but it makes me wonder why they'd even bother sending one and evaluating your courses enough to the point of sending it to you if they're just gonna end up denying you? I don't know if I'm making any sense lol

They send evals very randomly, but I think everyone should get one since we all pay the $60. I haven't received one yet but hopefully I do.

Hi im freaking out bc i did not get a course evaluation help

Hey don't worry, as we've said before, getting an evaluation does not determine acceptance. Good luck :).

For those who didn't receive an evaluation you can email them and they'll send one. However, as mentioned before just because you receive one doesn't mean you'll be accepted & if you don't receive one doesn't mean you'll be denied. I believe everyone should receive one!!

UT Health will work with you on some classes if they are similar. They said they would take my old Public Speaking class as an ART, and electives they will probably take the best grade of any overflow classes you might need. If you call the registrars office they will tell you if they will take certain things are not.

Yeah, they definitely gave me credit by transitioning some classes to fulfill others and helped me meet all of my requirements. Also, for those who took Biostatistics at UT or another college if they list the course that way, UT Health Houston accepted it. I just read in other forums, or this one (I can't remember which lol) that they didn't take it, but I'm glad to find that they did in case anyone was wondering.

Just left the info session. She did tell me personally that they sent out the last of the course evals this morning so we should be receiving them this week. Crossing fingers that we find out something in 3 weeks.
