I was hired for a 6 week temporary summer school nurse position and I was wondering if there are any differences between summer school and regular full year school nursing. I am new to nursing as this will be my first job. Thanks for your time and responses...:)

you can expect summer school to be a much much much less busy office than a regular school year office. There are less kids, they want to be there (usually because they have to) and they're typically only there for a few hours - most kids can hold out for the short time they're there.

Thank you Flare.

I would expect summer school to be much less crazy. Fewer hours and fewer kids to start but also less paperwork, no immunization or BMI surveys for the state. If I worked summer school here it would be a great time to get caught up from everything during the year or get ready for the next year. I expect you will see only a few kids in your office. Good luck!
