Hello, I am also applying to the nursing program at wcccd for the fall. Online classes are great but I actually think they require more work than regular classes. I haven't taken medical math yet, but I did take Nutrition, and I must say that class was a challenge. It wasn't hard, it just had a lot of assignments. I'm not even sure if they offer that one online. So other than those three, are all your co-reqs done? How did you do in your pre-reqs? Well good luck!:monkeydance:
They don't offer HSC 100 online and PS I'm not sure about that either. The online classes are just like going to class the only thing is you have to motavate yourself to stay within the instructors time tables and study and if you do that and know you're way around a computer and Blackboard then you should have no problems.
Goodluck and they have the catalog for the summer online so you can get a sense of your schedule for classes before you register.
I looked at the schedule for the summer and they do offer HSC100 online. The on campus class times conflict with my work shcedule. Thats why I wanted to know if that was a good idea to take it online rather than in class. I am currently taking two classes online right now and you're right, it is more difficult as far as the number of assignments so, I'm a little nervous about taking HSC 100 online.
I have taken all of my classes online, except for AP2 and HSC 100. Online classes are great. I think you should check the course schedule again HSC 100 is not offered online this summer. HSC 200 is offered which is Lifespan Development. DT 130 is a busy class but it is not hard and Ms. Zabitz is a good teacher, I believe she is the only one teaching DT 130 online. I took Mark Huffman online for PS, he was great but I don't think he teaches at WCCCD anymore. One of my co-workers, took both P. Smith and B. Talpos and stated that she would not recommend them, but who know it could just be her (she has taken it twice ). I will be applying for the fall semester too, best wishes!!
PS
This semester I have Patho (online), Algebra (online), Lifespan (online) and HSC 100 on campus with Caroline P. and she is great so far. But after this I have the summer off because pre-reqs are done:balloons: :balloons: :balloons: .

Thanks for the tips! very much appreciated. Are you taking Brian Jordan for patho? I took his online class last semester and I thought he was great. Enjoy your summer off and hopefully we'll both get accepted in the fall!:)
HSC 100 on line? That is interesting:uhoh21: . I took that class right before I got into nursing school this past January. If you are nervous about taking it on line, I would strongly suggest for you to take it on campus. Speaking for myself, even when I studied the information, it really helped to be there in person to learn this. Remember Med Math is graded on the nursing school scale. Anything below 75% is failing.....no rounding up. I was so peeved at myself, my final grade was in the low 90s.....I walked out of class thinking I had a hard earned A...WRONG! it was a B:trout: . Last semester, I took HSC 100 with HSC 200 (on-line), and DT 130 on campus.

This summer I have to take DT, HSC 100(medical math), and Political Science. I am applying for the Fall semester nursing program so I want these classes out of the way when I start. I work full time so I may have to take them all online. Is that a good idea in your opinion? Or would it be best to take any of them on campus. Also, any suggestions on which instructors are good? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
