Suggestions on learning techniques?

Hi everyone ... I thought I would take a break from studying to express my anxiety with everyone ! As if everyone else didn't have enough of their own ... but here goes. I just finished my first week of classes (I'm in an accelerated BSN program) and normally I learn and retain information by writing it all down, but with seven classes (I have no choice in the matter) the note taking is taking its toll. First of all my hand is about to fall off and I feel like it's information overload. I want to try new ways of studying, but I feel like there is no room for error, I mean I would problably have a heart attack if I did bad on any of my quizzes or tests because I wanted to try something new! Does anyone else learn by taking extensive notes? How do you deal with all of it or have you learned any new techniques that have helped you? Someone ... anyone please reply. Thanks.:D

I also learn by taking lots and lots of notes. It seems to stick in my brain better. This seems to work for me! My skills instructor told me to do this and keep highlighting the important things in my book, write any notes straight into my book and then go back read the section and try to write out everything I can remember. She said that as time passes I should be able to write less and remember more.

Make up questions to cover the material,

write the questions on one side of the page and the

answers on the other side, then force yourself to recall

the answers.
