Suggestions for an accelerted BSN program in southern CA

Does anyone have any suggestions for fast track BSN programs in southern CA? I have been looking at Cal State Northridge and also the Univ of Oklahoma Online (san diego/glendale campuses).

Comments on either of these 2 programs are appreciated.

Sorry, I don't know about these programs... I packed up and went to school on the east coast. A huge portion of my aBSN class was from the west coast, mostly from CA. At least when I was looking for accelerated programs, the west coast was lacking significantly. You may want to try other forums, such as the CA forum. The only advice I can give is to find a program that's been up and running for several years (5+) and who has access to EXCELLENT clinical sites.

Anyone else have any opinons? Also there is a HUGE descrepency between Cal State Northridge and Univ of OK (online) with tuition.

I dont really see how it can be such a huge disparity? Maybe b/c Univ of OK is online and therefore much more expensive?

Your quality of learning is going to be VASTLY different with an online program. I know for a fact. I have one MS that was "traditional in class" and a MSN that was 50% online-----and it sucked. I paid the $$ and was really disappointed.

If your goal is to become a CRNA, and you have never done any nursing before.....I suggest picking a decent program that is "inclass" .....you will need it.

Alot of people on this forum aspire to be a CRNA with minimal experience. I personally think it is dangerous, but that is me.

And hey, there are plenty of lawyers waiting for unexperienced healthcare workers to make a mistake.....

I can't speak to the programs you mentioned, but I went to the Acc BSN program at Mt St. Mary's College in LA. I thought of applying to a similar program at Cal State Long Beach but the MSMC program was shorter and an easier commute. The main issue with MSMC is the cost. It's around $40, 000 for that 1 year of school.

I looked at MSM's and yes the cost and the larger number of pre-reqs is what turned me off of them. Thanks.
