Hi guys!
Everyone here always give me such good advice so I wanted to see from others experience. I am accepting a position per diem in a float pool, I would like to get either a part time or per diem home care job as well. I have a few years experience in critical care but am looking for a flexible schedule and to get on a day schedule as I am soon getting married and my husband would like me to be on the same schedule as him. Just wondering if anyone has experience with a particular agency and there pay? If they have on call I heard on call is where a lot of people make money. Just wondering how people's schedule was ? If it was flexible. Any feedback would be appreciative !! Thanks

This is totally dependent upon the work load of any particular agency, at any point in time, at any given location. You have to talk to them to find out what can be worked out. If they can't give you the type of schedule that you need at the time, you just go down the street to the next agency and they might have a case or visit schedule that will fit the bill.

Speaking to intermittent home health (versus private duty shifts) if I were going to look for perdiem or part time, I'd want to do the admissions. 2 stops per day and easier to coordinate. Working perdiem and seeing a different set of patients every day and relying on the organization of the office and the individual nurses as well as finding 5-6 patients' home/day and then being able to wrap it all up at the end of the day is a lot for someone without home health experience.
It used to be easier to work perdiem back when patient acuities were lower but now you can get a whole schedule of sick patients and they aren't necessarily in and out task oriented visits.
