Sudafed

Does anyone know if this is still available over the counter? I thought I heard where now a prescription is required.

It's the pseudoephedrine that meth manufacturers are after. I thought all states now required it to be signed for and only a certain amount is allowed per person.

All I know is that it is a pain in the neck for allergy sufferers!

Sudafed PE, the stuff that's available directly off the shelf, does NOTHING to help my sinuses. I might as well pop a marshmellow for all the help it gives me.

I couldn't agree more. Phenylephrine is completely worthless. These days I actually give out Rx's for the pseudoephedine or recommend they try the OTC Claritin.

I strongly suspect that meth manufacturers have very little trouble buying bulk pseudoephedrine from online companies outside the U.S. Also, pseudoephedrine is not the only precursor that can be used to manufacture meth.

I used to know a nurse who told me that he made meth in his toilet. He got busted, but never convicted, therefore, he kept his license.

I think it can be used to treat priapism.

Classic. Didn't know that.

Everytime I think about priapism, I think about needle drainage. Then I thank my lucky stars I chose Orthopaedics and not Urology.

I remember this urology resident (major cutie!) who used to flirt with me, but after I had watched her try to put a foley in an old guy with BPH (bloody mess) I really couldn't work up any - um - enthusiasm for her.

Dating a female Urologist? Yech. Teaches me why so many women get creeped out about dating an Ob/gyn.

I once asked my wife if she would have married me if I had matched to gyn. She said no. And she was an ER nurse at a Women's and Children's hospital when we met . . .
