Could you tell me if sometime you use the tip of a yankauer on the nostril of a baby to suction him. If so, what is the pressure applied to do it and do you have a specific protocol for it or is it a common practice? Thank you

This is not a common practice that i am aware of. Normally a baby,s nostril is suctioned with the soft, bendable catheter or even a small bulb syringe

I agree with nurs20. Never used a Yankauer, only suct caths and bulb syr's. Normally just bulb syrs if I'm just doing nasal sx.
