I know that most companies require 1 year of CONTINOUS experance.
my question is if you are working as a travel nurse and wish to take a couple of months off between assignments this would not cause you to become ineligible would it?
I didn't think it would but was curious
p.s.
sorry for my spelling

I have never had anyone say I had to have continuous employment, ye gads! We all need a vacation now and then. I just took a month off between assignments and only worked about 6 months last year as a traveler, and picked up a few agency shifts to fill in the gaps. I think they just want recent experince and are not into the letter of the law. That is one of the nice things about traveling, you are not tied into one area so you can set your own schedule.

You are just required to complete the time that is in your contract. You are free to do whatever that you want the rest of the time. You can choose to travel for three months, then take three months off. Or you may only want to do one travle assignment per year. It is your choice. You get to design what you want, that is why all of us love it so much.

The nice thing is, if you don't want to holidays, either tell the that when you interview and put in your contract, or have your contract end prior to the holiday. Alot of companies say "13 weeks", but you can negotiate that. I have worked 6, 8, 9, 12, and 13 week assignments, depending on what I need. And I never work a holiday I don't want to. That's what is great about this job. YOU determine what you need, where and when you want to work for what price.

I think she is meaning that, to be considered for travel nursing a person has to have at least a year of experience.
