I'm currently studying to sit for the CNRN exam Nov, 2006....I saw some reviews spread out over the US....not very likely I can make one of those...anybody know if there's a website or study book (kind of like the NCLEX) that I could use to practice test taking for this exam....so far I haven't found one...I've been studying some of the suggested books on Neurosurgery, ie Neuroscience nursing by Barker, Clinical practice by Hickey...any help would be most appreciated...thanks :balloons: kat

I am interested as well..........

Thanks in advance.

I have started studying and from what others have said, the recommended textbook is what majority of test takers use. Studying all the neuro-anatomy first, and then all the pathology/conditions is what I have read is the most successful.

Good Luck.

I'm an hour outside of Chicago and too would rather study at home or online.

I'm interested in this too. Anyone know the bestways/tips to study for the test? What are the books, audio, videos best for the review?:specs: thanks

The test I just took (11/10/06) seemed practiced-based, common sense stuff. Not much on the lesser know/dealt with disease processes.

** Disclaimer ** Don't take me for fact!!! There is more than 1 version of the test out there!!

---- I won't know the results of my test until after Christmas.

Thanks. One of my friends took the test last year and she said exactly just what you experienced. The test was more focus on common sense in dealing with pts with neurological deficits/rehabs than the disease process itself.

so, did any of you who took the exam ever find a CNRN practice test? The core curriculum is a BORE, sure cures insomnia! The CCRN practice exam doesn't really cover enough content. The only things I find out there are flash cards and "exam secrets" from Morrison Media and they do not provide ANY practice test questions or web sites, or resources at all, however the DO suggest that you find a good resource for practice tests. Even the test prep review site has nothing for CNRN! So, if anyone has some practice test questions from a University or Review course, please PLEASE send them my way. You can email me at [email protected]. I am 3 weeks from taking the computerized test, I need to find SOMETHING! Thanks in advance and congratulations to all of you who passed!

I am going to take the CNRN exam in April and am studying like crazy. I see all these previous posts here. Can anyone send me the breakdown of the test, any tips and/or practice tests? I would be forever grateful and would really appreciate it. Thanks so much fellow neuroscience nurses!

give me an email I can send the breakdown to, I think I have it saved on my computer. If you come across any practice test questions please let me know. I take the test in under 3 weeks and I have yet to begin the review!

I passed!!!! I encourage all neuroscience nurses, whether you have two years or twenty years of experience, whether you are a rehab, floor, ICU, NP or somewhere in between, challenge yourself and take it! If I can do it, anyone can.

The posts are helpful. I am really looking for as many questions as I can get for my Neuroscience Nursing Certification in July. I can't find questions not even the AANN has them. Please please let me know where I can find them or send them to me if possible. Taking this test means alot to me. Please help me.
