Study Plan to Pass NCLEX-PN

I graduated on April 23rd 2016 and I took my NCLEX-PN on July 13th 2016 in the state of California. Here's my study plan, I hope this help those who are preparing for the NCLEX.

Time Frame: April 18th-19th: Printed blank calendars, planned/organized study schedule

April 20th2016 -July 12th 2016; 63 days of studying

Pre-study materials:

- KAPLAN NCLEX-PN PREMIER 2015-2016 (rent from public Library)

~ Read/Reviewed the whole book

- Saunders's Comprehensive NCLEX-PN 5th Edition (rent from public Library)

~ Read Chapter 1-6

Study Materials:

Summary: after pre-study materials, I study Hurst Review and LaCharity together, once completed I did the Hurst Q reviews. Then Q's from Uworld

- HURST REVIEW LIVE

~ Read/Wrote Day 1& Day 2 Lectures (created my own notebook for motivation & inspiration); Read/highlighted Specialty Lectures; Read Resource documents r/t topic of the day

~ Q's score: 54%, 60%,60% (they had repetitive Q's)

- LaCharity Prioritizing, Delegation and Assignment 3rd Edition (rent from public Library)

~ did the chapter & review rationales r/t topic of the day

~ score: 36%-80%

  • NCLEX Mastery app

~ used randomly throughout the time frame: waiting in line, waiting in the doctor's office etc

~ Avg score: 64%

  • UWorld (30 Days)

~ purchased 2 wks from exam date; 85 Q's & review rationales each day but only 45 Q's the night before exam date

~ score: 41%-52%

- 2 Study Guides:

~ YouTube: HEYRONA and allnurses: NCLEX Study Guide 39 pages

~read the day before exam date (I should have read them on the days I did UWorld)

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for blessing me & helping me get through nursing school & being with me every step of the way. Father I ask to please help me while I study for my NCLEX __ Exam, that your Holy Spirit will help me use discernment & critical thinking while I study & that I will retain any & all information that is needed to pass my NCLEX__ Exam. Father I thank you, that you have given me the wisdom & ability to pass my NCLEX__ exam. Father I ask that you would take any self-doubt, fear & negative thinking. I ask that you be with me while I study each day & when I take my NCLEX__ exam. Because you are with me I know and believe (by Faith) I will succeed and pass my NCLEX__ exam the first time. Exam Day:

-Woke up at 0600, -Pampered self -Ate oatmeal and a boiled egg with coffee -Arrived 30 mins early used the restroom prior to exam@ 0800-Took a ten min break after two hours into the exam: used the restroom had trail mix bar, one boiled egg and cucumbers

Exam: 115 Q's in 3hrs 10mins: 20 SATA, 7 or 8 Meds, 1 dosage calculation
