hello everyone!

first of all, i was very, very happy because i got in in one of the universities in lower mainland called trinity western university. i applied in march of this year...they put me on a waiting list. i wasn't expecting they're gonna call me or whatsoever. but luck came in, they called me last week, a day after my birthday with a big news. "a student pulled out last minute and decided that she doesn't wanna go into nursing, there's an available spot for you if you are interested". right there and then, i dropped everything, including my full time job in bc women's and children's hospital as a nursing unit clerk. even my wedding which is supposed to be happening sometime soon got put on hold as well. i told myself before that once a big opportunity like this comes...i need to drop everything all because of nursing. this phone call is one of the greatest gift i ever got. i couldn't sleep for 2 days trying to picture myself being in a university. this kind of luck doesn't go around the circle twice most of the time. anyhow, i got in...it is the bachelor of science in nursing. the program is 4 years long. it didn't take longer than 6 months to wait for the result. i'm guessing, they probably based it on my gpa. well, there's one big problem though, tuition is very expensive. it's about $16,000 a year. oh well...have to suck it up you know?

my question is...are there any people in there who is in the same situation? this sounds really funny but it's true. i've worked really hard to do all of my prereq's while working full time at the same time. just by reading some of the posts and basing it on my experience, getting into nursing school is not easy at all. actually, it's a lot of hard work. sooo...is there really people out there who didn't have to wait for years to get in? ur inputs are greatly appreciated.

Hey there I am entering my 4the year at UCFV!! We will be doing clinicals at the same hosp I am sure (MSA, RMH, MMH). I only waited for them to review my stuff and I got in on the next intake. There is a waitlist (1-2 years), but i got in...

TWU is pretty good, I work with 3 ppl that are currently in the BSN programme there. The only compliant they have is not enough clinicals...but other than that oh well! Its a good school...CONGRATS! (they are all goin into 3rd or 4th year tho)
