Wake Forest SOm and Diversity

I just found out that Wake Forest CRNA school is holding a diversity workshop. It sounds pretty nice. I called (because the website didn't really show the agenda). The admin said they have mock interviews, ultrasound guided IV insertion, and simulation. Anyone else been to a workshop like this? Is diversity still an issue in nurse anesthesia?

Looks interesting. I wonder if other states and schools offer these kinds of workshops and where else diversity is a concern and a priority...

I live in NC. There are 6 schools here (DUKE, Wake, Raleigh, UNC- Charlotte, WCU, and ECU) , but this is the only one I know of with programs like this.

This sounds like such a great program! It seems like Wake Forest's faculty must be very supportive of people from all different backgrounds entering the CRNA profession! I know when I was in nursing school they made it seem like only young, single people with no responsibilities could go to CRNA school, but then I found out that isn't really the case. Sounds like this program will provide the foundation needed to plan for CRNA school!

Thanks for the info! I only new about the H3A. The diversity one was just added to my calendar. I'm crossing my fingers that I don't have work then!
