In the process of looking for places to live in baton rouge which are nice and conveniently located near olol, any help would be much appreciated.

Also looking for others going to olol this fall.

thanks

Hey!!!! I'm planning on applying their as my 3rd choice. LSU and UAB are my top pick. What are your stats: GPA, GRE, Experience, certifications, interview process.....??????? How many people are accepted and how many people are interviewed?

My brother stays at a nice apartment in baton rouge. He is at LSU law school. I will find out the name of the apartment when I talk to him later tonight

Congrats on getting accepted Jac!

I think around 70 people get interviews and then 30-35 are chosen from that group. I have a little over two years in a Surgical and trauma ICU at a level one trauma center, Just have ACLS and PALS, nursing GPA around 3.5 cumulative is around 3.8, GRE 1100. I actually enjoyed the interview, very professional and easy to talk to, you take a clinical test so they dont drill with clinical questions like some of the bigger schools, have friends that have interviewed at UAB, heard it was rough. But good luck on applying. If ya do have any info on Baton would appreciate it.

I also start in August, and leave in Baton Rouge, LA. Let me know if you need some assistance with housing.

Hey steve, what where your stats? I'm looking to apply there along with applying to UAB and LSU. And just want to see how I compare.

Congratulations Steve,

I am mostly looking at the apartments around OLOL, if you know of any that I need to stay away from or some that are affordable and nice I would appreciate the help. I also looked into renting houses, do you know of any neighborhoods close to OLOL that are reasonably priced?

To all, I currently live in BR and work at OLOL. I didn't get accepted to OLOL but got accepted to LSU. I currently live 2 miles away from campus and highly recommend finding a place in the area. I would not recommend living in the Gardere area. It's area that has been having an increase in crime rate over the past couple of years. One Perkins place is a relatively cheap townhouse complex that is pretty much on the OLOL campus. I would also recommend Chateau Dijon apartment complex which is about a mile away from the hospital. Another nice apartment complex is Mansions in the Park on Perkins. I hope this helps some. If anyone knows of any nice, reasonably priced places to live in New Orleans, please let me know. Congrats to all

and i bet i know who this is.......my fellow ICU co-worker.

housing will be expensive anywhere around the baton rouge area (yet still not as expensive as other areas of the country). i live in denham springs which is about 15 minutes from baton rouge, and i'm sure that there are places to rent. prairieville and gonzales are also good areas to look for housing for less than what you'd find in the baton rouge area.

congrats to everyone who got accepted and hopefully i'll be leaving the good ole state of louisiana as early as january to leave for anesthesia school as well!

Congrats on getting accepted jac I will be going to olol this fall as well. I have a strange feeling you might already know that! When are we going to BR to find us some apartments?
