Just a space to share any updates on your applications to Rutgers!

I applied, still waiting to hear about an interview.

Specializes in ICU.

Same here. Application is in but no further news yet.

I also haven't heard back from them...

Received my email invite for an interview last week.

Specializes in ICU.

Congrats iurn86! When is your interview?

I'm interviewing nov 11th. Pretty terrified. I've heard horror stories about their interviews

Specializes in ICU.

I've heard it's difficult as well. Very clinical based (hopefully I'm wrong). What horror stories have you heard? I'm interviewing the 10th. Equally as nervous.

I have heard its very clinical based which is fine. But what I'm nervous about is that in the past they have interrupted candidates in the middle of answers with another question, spoken over candidates, barked out questions, etc. I get the idea of pressure interviewing but I find that to be beyond. I just hope I don't get too flustered. I am a pretty decent interviewer but I've never dealt with those types of circumstances.

Just heard back also. I have mine on the 12th. I think their new program director has a better approach. Also, I think that there was a culture shift from the UMDNJ days. That being said, I have also heard that they are heavy into the clinical questions along the lines of CCRN style questions. I'm reviewing my CCRN question bank again. GL to you my future classmates ;-)

@tactilefremitus have you heard anything else specific about the interview? You seem to have more current information then me. I'm glad to hear possibly the style has switched.

I know its clinical heavy, do you know any drugs/content they are known to ask more about?

I wish I knew more but it seems like there is not much more to know. I'm not sure really but from what I've heard asking around and reading online, it seems like there is no format and to the interview. It will just evolve as they think of random things to ask as far as the clinical questions...CCRN style. As for the other questions, I'm sure that you've seen this but just in case...check this out.
