  1. They sent me an email because I sent an email but check the application status page. https://admissions.nursing.columbia.edu/apply/status
  2. They are definitely still interviewing. They said that no decisions will be made until mid to late December.
  3. Just got the good news via email. Best of luck to everyone!
  4. Phew. That was a heavy interview. They ask unique questions for each person. You can steer the interview to a certain extent. Know the basics about your specialty and critical care in general. Have a few good clinical stories that you know EVERY DETAIL about (and details of details, you never know where the trail will go). They quick fire many clinical questions and cut you off when they are satisfied or cut you off if you go on too long and they are not satisfied. Seems like a great program though. Mingling with the other students was excellent. They all seem very close (kinda like boot camp maybe?). Anyway, good luck! Hopefully I'll see you on the other side!
  5. I wish I knew more but it seems like there is not much more to know. I'm not sure really but from what I've heard asking around and reading online, it seems like there is no format and to the interview. It will just evolve as they think of random things to ask as far as the clinical questions...CCRN style. As for the other questions, I'm sure that you've seen this but just in case...check this out.
  6. Just heard back also. I have mine on the 12th. I think their new program director has a better approach. Also, I think that there was a culture shift from the UMDNJ days. That being said, I have also heard that they are heavy into the clinical questions along the lines of CCRN style questions. I'm reviewing my CCRN question bank again. GL to you my future classmates ;-)
  7. My understanding is that they offer an MSN and DNP however, the DNP takes more time but is probably worth the future distinction. The AANA wants the entry to practice degree to be the DNP by 2025 and many programs are starting that transition now.
  8. It was pretty standard. Just the usual tips: Get your letters of rec requests in early. The essay is two pages which is easier than the 500-word limits of other applications. Good luck, I hope I see you there ;-)
  9. That's probably true. Well, I just wanted to open up a space to share info as people start to hear back. I also wanted another place to obsessively check through November.
  10. Just a space to share any updates on your applications to Rutgers!
  11. I just wanted to make a space for people to share their application progress for Columbia University CRNA program for Summer 2016. I see that last year people started getting notified about interviews the second week of November. Good luck! (but not too much since I'm applying too ;-) Did you get an interview spot? When? How did the interview go? What happened? Did you get accepted? Submit a Columbia University review today! You can review your school as a Student, Alumni, Parent, Pre-Student, Employee, or Other. Act fast, winners will be announced next
