Hello everyone, I was planning to apply to CRNA school and was curious how it is you guys all study. During nursing school, I really only used review books and utilized the textbooks as references only when I needed to get greater depth of the information I was studying. I'm honestly just not a fast reader and I understand the volumes and amounts that CRNA school will entail. Are there any books that you guys recommend to help you cut out the fluff and help you understand the material? You know, how reviews and rationales was in nursing school, or how USMLE first aid helps out med students? Thanks for the feedback.

in a word: nope. There's a lot of stuff you're gonna have to know and learn to pass boards and your classes. Once you have your license you can cut out the fluff, but un fortunately for now you're going to gave to learn n remember it. Try to understand concepts and common threads between thing as opposed to just memorizing stuff.

I don't find the material very difficult. It's the volume of information that makes is overwhelming. Difficulty is relative of course...if you're strong in science, then the anesthesia material shouldn't be incredibly complicated. I do agree with "Da Milk" though. Just try to absorb as much information as you can. You will need to know the "fluff" for boards.

Oh well... What can you do. I find the sciences easier for me to understand, I'm just slow as a snail when it comes to reading :facepalm:

Thanks for the advice anyway however! Guess I'll take these next 2-3 years to learn as much as I can! I want to start studying for a ccrn as soon as I pass my NCLEX, even if I get a med sure floor first time around. Thanks for the advice!
