CRNA school, Fall 2018

Anyone applying for CRNA school admission for Fall 2018 in North Carolina? I am applying soon for Raleigh, Duke, Charlotte, ECU, possibly Wake Forest. Looking for current or prospective students (or recently accepted) about the application/interview process. Here is what I am applying with:

1 year and a couple months of cardiac ICU experience at a large hospital, CCRN, ACLS/PALS, GPA 3.50, GRE 300 (writing not graded yet), BSN GPA 3.68.

Thoughts? (honesty appreciated, I want to be as competitive as possible)

I'm also applying to ECU and western for January and then the others for fall if I don't get in to either of the two. ECU is my top choice for many many reasons! I'm applying with 11/2 years of PICU expoierence at a level one hospital and a year and counting in CVRU at the same hospital!! My GPA-3.55, science 3.55, BSN-3.96, CCRN, GRE-307. I'm also chair of UBC and I precept and take on charge role! I'm also on other committees as well! I'm hoping for positive outcomes! Also- I took my GRE initially and got a 299 and retook it to be more competitive!!!

Anyone concerned about starting for CRNA in 2018 and having DNP become a requirement by 2025? My understanding is the MOST places would follow the grandfathered in policy. However, it still worries me.

What about it worries you? If you have a master's in anesthesia of course you'll be able to continue to practice. Me personally, I'm going to try to get into an MSN program before the DNAP dominates most/all schools.

My concern is that in 2025 they will start to require DNP, just as most hospitals now prefer RN's to have a BSN.

It takes about 4 yrs to complete BSN-MSN. Then to go from MSN- DNP it is another 4 yrs. Oddly enough, and I could be wrong here, but I've looked into this option as well, it also takes about 4 yrs to complete BSN-DNP.

It's usually a year and a half post masterS to get your DNP and if you're that concerned apply to programs that are already DNP?

I live in North Carolina. Applying to Wake Forest and Charlotte in the NC area and a few others outside of North Carolina. How is the application process coming along for everyone?

I have heard from RSNA about an interview. Wake Forest and Charlotte said interview notifications will be sent out in October. Still waiting on Duke.
