CRNA personal statement help!!

I need advise! I am applying to CRNA school and the only thing that I can't seem to complete is the personal statement. I have written 10 different versions and each one is equally boring. I think I am so scared to stick to the format and word count that I am not adding in any personal details that make my essay stand out. I want to write something that is memorable or at least a little different, but I need serious help.

Is anyone else struggling with this? Any tips??

In my opinion I would focus on making sure your grammar, spelling, punctuation is on point and not so much on the content of the personal statement. Schools use the personal statement to see how well you write, If you can throw in some humor then go for it. Spend more time on getting a high GRE score and GPA and practice practice your interview skills if needed. 10 different versions of a personal statement seems a bit much and time consuming. Good luck!

I am right there with you! I feel like I continue to write personal statements but none of them truly express what I want to get across and my passion for the profession. Unfortunately you're right passthehaldol, it is time consuming! haha

I had family and a few friends read my statement. One of the schools I was going to apply to (changed my mind when I received an acceptance from my 1st choice school) said that the personal statement was a great time to sneak in any info you want the committee to know. As long as you are answering the question(s) they ask, you can manipulate your answer to explain any possible deficiencies or blanks in your application. For me, I had started to apply in 2007, but was unexpectedly widowed. So I threw in a one-liner about that because I figured they would wonder why after 10 years I'm now coming back. So anything special about you that isn't covered in the application, this is how to get it in front of them.
