CRNA for Pennsylvania Schools

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hello Everyone!

I have recently applied to some of the CRNA programs in PA including Pitt, Excela, Villanova, , York College, and La Salle. I've been a Pediatric Cardiac ICU nurse for 3 years and have been researching potential questions for interviews. I understand scenario questions are catered to your area of expertise but being a large heart center for kids we still do not encounter Swans or PAs. Our central lines consist of Alines, CVPs (through IJs or Broviacs) and the occasional LA line in really sick patients. Do you think being limited to specific lines will be a downfall to interviewing? Everything else is pretty much the same for pressors and arrhythmia management except everything is smaller doses and per kg. Any tips for interviewing or how to prepare???? No matter how much I do, I still feel as though I am not preparing enough. I do have an interview for Drexel so far.....

I think it will depend on the program. There are 4 people in my class now that come from a pediatric background. The clinical stuff is just a small part of the interview. It is more of a chance to sell yourself. They really want to know you have what it takes to be successful and make it through the program.
