Does CRNA curriculum has lots of chemistry and physics? I heard different things from different people. Would like to get an insight on this? Thanks.

I'm sure it depends on your school. There is chemistry with every drug. The physics was very specific to what we are doing with anesthesia. Gas laws of course and some other like Pousilles(spelling is butchered) law etc....

Specializes in Anesthesia.

Compared to undergraduate nursing there is moderately more, but it is all mostly geared towards pharmacology.

There is lots of variability between schools, but in general if you did fine in organic chemistry you should not have problems with chemistry in NA school.

I chose a science heavy school and got my wish. If you did fine in ochem, then it is more than fine. I mean, people have different backgrounds and classes, and took those classes a different amount of years ago, and they get thru. Granted, some people's journey is a little more rough and difficult, but you can have study groups and also get tutors in certain classes if you need it.

Hi! I'm new here! Want to share info re CRNA.

Anybody has any idea how is CRNa school with MUSC? I would love to hear any info. Thanks!:)

Welcome Foramen! I haven't heard anything about that school, hopefully someone will chime in!

Hi missnurse01! Thanks for your reply. What school are you in?

I am at VCU. I just read your other post about being nervous. It is rather nerve wracking until you know exactly what is expected of you. Then at some point exhaustion hits you and you are kind of less anxious, lol. Our first semester was brutal, this one isn't as bad although I don't seem to be getting any more sleep than last semester!

Good luck!
