Are taking GRE's 3-4 years prior to CRNA school a good idea?

i am currently a nursing student, and i dont expect to be able to apply to a CRNA program for another 3-4 years. my work load is much less for the next 2 years than it will be the the next 2 years following

my question:

is it a good idea to take the GRE's now while i have the extra time to study for it??? does it matter to a Anesthesia program that the grade is 2-4 years old??

I think the gre is good for 5 years, but I'm not sure.

The schools I've looked at have a validity period of 5 years on GRE scores.

At the places that I have applied, the GRE is good for 5 yrs. So, I think it is an excellent idea. If you do bad, you have time to study and retake it. I think this is very smart. TC & good luck!

It seems like a good idea but you never know what the future holds, so it has the possibiliy to be a waste. If your plans fall through for another year you may have to take it again, that wouldn't be good and it would be a waste of money and time. Can you wait maybe another year or two? Also a few programs are wanting 2 years of experience for entrance now; this may be the norm 3-4 years from now, and then your score will be worthless. This would be really sad if you did really well! I think it's good to be able to take it while those GRE facts are fresh in your mind! I just wouldn't want to be hurried to apply because of an old GRE score because you really dont know how you'll feel in 3-4 years from now.
