Student nurses who applied to jobs before graduating

Any students who are applying to jobs already?

Are there any student nurses who applied to jobs before graduating and passing NCLEX? What was your experience? Did you apply to "new grad residencies" or just regular RN positions? I am asking because I applied to an RN job (I graduate in August) and was called for an interview BUT the job posting mentioned having "1 year of nursing experience". My resume and application both stated that I will be graduating in august and pending NCLEX. Any insight?
