Hello
I was wondering if anyone knew of any Venipuncture Training course a student nurse can take prior to graduating. My school does not train us on that and I think it's a important skill to have. Preferably in the north jersey area if u know of any

Venipuncture is phlebotomy. Not always required of nurses and I don't think any NJ nursing schools include phlebotomy. You can pay a local tech school or county college continuing education class but these are often a full semester class 3-4 hours a night 3 days a week plus clinical practice. It may be too much as a nursing student. Plus most of the phlebotomy classes cost $500-$3000 depending on the school.
If you are thinking about IV courses the hospitals and other facilities where IV therapy may be needed offer them as part of orientation for new hires or those changing jobs/units (and you are paid for the training) or there are paid courses from UMDNJ and some of the county colleges but all of those those I've seen require a current RN or LPN license as most of these classes also include accessing central and long term lines (Port-a-cath, Broviac, Hickmann, PICC lines).

Did you try any iv certification classes? I'm not sure if it fits what you mean
Most IV cert classes are restricted to currently licensed RNs & LPNs.
