Hi, I am a newly accepted FNP for 2013. Does anyone have any knowledge about textbooks for the first semester and what the orientation details for 3 days? I would love to get a jump start on my reading, I have heard it is a bear.

Appreciate the advice .... I will retake!
You can retake but it's probably not necessary. I would focus more and a solid essay and great answers to the application questions; also strong letters of rec are VERY important. They asked about mine directly in my interview

I would love to hear more about the NMW/FNP dual track once you all get started. I just graduated with my Associate RN and will start soon as a L&D nurse and work on my BSN(I also have a BA in Sociology and worked for child protection for 5 years as well as TONS of volunteer work with foster children). Just have to take the GRE. I'm most interested in hearing more about direct entry, costs, and what sort of schedule you have.

I recently was informed via postal mail that I was accepted into the women's health/adult gerontological program. I must admit that my "stats" were not stellar at all; compared to most of you I look like a novice on paper. However, from colleagues/clients I've worked with in the past that have graduated from the program VU really weighs ALOT on the essays. I truly believe that my essays were my strong point as I literally dedicated two months for them.

Congratulations to everyone on being accepted to Vanderbilt!! What an accomplishment!

JLGCSCS- Although this thread is titled Grad Entry, I see there have been some pre-specialty students on here as just to clarify, are you a pre-specialty or direct entry student? When did you apply?

    Pre-specialty. I applied in March, I believe.

PRE-SPECIALTY WAISTLISTERS- Has anyone heard anything? I applied for Adult-Gerontology Primary Care and got waitlisted. Does anyone have any details about the waitlist?
