Nursing Students NP Students

Specializes in Utilization Review, OB GYN, NICU.

Is anyone familiar with the Women's Health NP program at the Univerisity of Indianapolis?

How is the supply and demand of this specialty? I have nursing experience in NICU and OBGYN. I am not very interested in the adult or family NP areas.

Specializes in labor & delivery.

I was wanting to do the same thing...WHNP, but Arizona State University recently dropped that program and there are no programs in AZ now. Makes me wonder if it's worth being so specialized. I have a few FNP friends that told me to just go the FNP route and specialize in women's care. Not sure what direction I will go at this point. Just going to be a nurse for a while. Good luck to you!!

I am in the FNP program at UIndy (will graduate next May.) The WHNP/CNM program coordinator, Barb Winningham, is amaaaaaaaaaaazing. One of my friends is in the WHNP track and graduating this spring.

I'm not sure about job opportunities. I'm considering switching to WHNP, though, although I still like the FNP stuff too.

@serenity1: How can you specialize in women's care in an FNP program? Just ask to do more clinical hours in this field once your main hours are covered for boards?

Hey ER nurse, I just applied to UIndy's ANP program. I have a BSN from IU, recently graduated in December and I have a 3.5 GPA. What you think are my chances since you have been through it? Thanks
