I'm sure this question has been asked, but are there federal student loans that one can use to cover living expenses while going to school full time? I don't want to borrow but I'm thinking there is no way my current employer could accommodate my schedule and I'll need to supplement my income that I will make while working part time during nursing school.
I also have savings to tap into.
I'm not sure what kind of credit check will be required too, because I have iffy credit. Thank you,

In addition to the pell grant there are three loans you might qualify for through FAFSA. There's perkins loans if your EFC is low enough to qualify for them as well as subsidized and unsubsidized stafford loans, but they max out at like $4500 a quarter ($1000 for perkins, $1500 for subsidized stafford, $2000 for unsubsidized stafford).
Buyer beware, BSN

OP:
Loans for living expenses are not a good idea. Loan money does not come cheap and should be used exclusively for tuition expenses.
Remember these loans don't go away. Try to go to school as inexpensively as possible. As a future nurse you will have a vocation not a trust fund.
Don't dial-up financial bondage for yourself as many others have done much to their regret.
