Student loan question (non-profit)

Published

I am trying to find out where I go or who I call in regards to my student loan repayment if I need to call them to tell them I work for a non-profit organization as a nurse. This is is the state of Nebraska and I have both subsidized and unsubsidized stafford loans.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking here. If you are simply asking who you talk to about loan repayment schedules that would be whoever your student loan service provider is. If you are asking about a student loan forgiveness program based on the fact that you work for a non-profit going first to your student loan provider is still a good idea, but don't be surprised if they are less than helpful. There's a lot of horror stories about how difficult it is to be accepted in a student loan forgiveness program. A ton of stories are out there about people who thought they were good to go and later found out that due to some technical glitch they actually weren't eligible after all.

Yeah it was just the loan forgiveness that I was unsure of. My very first loan repayment came out this month, so the schedule and amount is already set up. After I graduated several months ago I had a lot of people telling me that "all you do is go to this website and fill out information regarding working for your non-profit". Well, of course being a procrastinator at the time I did not do it.

The website I do remember being a .EDU website, I believe it was one general federal website for student loan forgiveness. However I am unsure of what the website is and a google search was not helpful in the least.

Thanks.
