Anyone know any legit websites or programs out there for nurses that will forgive your student loans? Sadly, I've only been a nurse now for almost 2 years and haven't been able to make hardly any payments due to financial hardships. I went through a divorce right when I started working so it was very hard and now I owe roughly $34,000. This is getting ridiculous, I'm still not really able to pay and keep deferring and the interest is adding up. I do plan to pay but I was just wondering if anyone can help me out with some info? thanks

I know here in CA, if you get a job working for the state and commit to a certain number of years, there's a loan forgiveness program. Sadly, with the economy the way it is these days, there are fewer and fewer of these out there.

Here's the site for one, and it works in Indiana. I see you're from South Bend. Not everyone qualifies--you have to be employed full time in an underserved area:
Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program
Deadline for applying is the end of February.
