Student Applying to NVCC For Nursing Program Starting in Fall 2013

U.S.A. Virginia

Hi Everyone!

I really wanted to begin a thread about NVCC's Nursing Program due to begin in Fall 2013 (Applications are due May 2013). I am starting my pre-reqs in January, because I have been in school elsewhere. I know it will be tight to get them completed in time to apply, but I want to be considered in time for the Fall 2013 program.

For anyone who has applied and been accepted to NVCC's nursing program, or for anyone who plans to in May, will you tell me what your credentials were (GPA, TEAS score, any certifications etc)? As in, if you could describe the perfect nursing school application, what would it include?

I want to do this right! Any support/insight is great.

Hi klansdow, I am glad you got that letter, too! But yeah, it was so thin I was shaking when I opened it! I guess we just have to deal with the fact that we really won't hear until (at least) June 21st.

Also, I see that we have guests reading the thread! JOIN US in our wait!!!! We'd love to hear from you, and go through this together!

Just to let you know when we got our letters last year they were just one page so if on June 21st you get a thin envelope don't panic there is nothing in there except the "congratulations" letter with a lot of instructions on what you need to do!! GOOD LUCK!!!! :nurse:

Thanks for the info! I'm glad you joined our post! Waiting anxiously for this long 2 weeks to be done and over with. Been watching sooo many videos about nursing school on youtube that I think I'm just nuts obsessed, LOL. Please keep posting, and good luck to us all!

i am obsessively checking my school email from work. i need to just get my mind off of it and go on with life, ha! easier said than done. happy to see i am not the only one sick with worry, etc. not really sick, per se, but just fixated! happy to be here with you all.

Well I remember getting a confirmation letter saying 3-4 weeks or something, but it didn't take that long....I heard there were a lot of applicants this year, & they go through all of them! but really guys...relax!!! and I never got a letter in the mail of my acceptance, I only got an email!

oh, and I am in tradtional. I'm not sure if the LPN-RN was any different. but they talke 116 instead of 111.

I am definitely glad we have everyone here to talk it out with! What are things you guys have been doing to occupy your minds?!

Brian_j, sounds like you are busy with work. Jessi_o, those videos sound addictive! I should look into those...! haha

I love to bake, so I have been flooding my family and boyfriend with cookies, cakes, pies, cupcakes etc. It's a win-win for everyone involved!

MG0907, thanks again for your info and insight! You are a huge comfort to us newbies.

Im in the process of moving so that has stopped me from checking it 5 times a week to about 2-3...baby steps ;)

Klansdow, that must help distract you quite a bit! Although moving is pretty stressful as well...

Are you applying to Traditional or LPN-RN bridge program?

your right, i swapped one stressful thing for another! Im applying to the traditional program

work, our dog, going to the gym, and getting out of town on the weekends (as of late) have all proven to be effective methods in taking my mind off admissions. though it really never goes away. the anticipation is unbearable but there's nothing to be done.

will we get the email first or a letter first or both on the same day? i wonder...

Last year we got the email first not sure if they are doing it different this year!! I believe our deadline for the application was May 14th and I got an email on June 6th.....Hope this helps!!!
