You can only be a student (associate member) if you are currently enrolled in a program. Your program director usually passes out the applications in the first week of school. It is $20 for the duration of your schooling.
thanks!
Good info!
Thats a bit different from many other organizations but in a way, its like a secret handshake that only members and initiates get to learn. Nifty

that is right on target, I have been accepted and will start injanuary 07. I went to program director and asked if i could join now. The AANA requires you to be enrolled on the actual core program before joining.

Hi all,
I am a mere wanna-be SRNA. I am still taking some prereqs. I know you must be in a program for a student membership, however a friend of mine mentioned that she is able to get the subscription to the journal. Does anyone know about this?

A proposal is on the docket at the Annual Business Meeting in Cleveland this year to increase Associate Membership to $100. There hasn't been an increase in the fee since the early 1980's.

Yes, that's true. I got a subscription to the AANA journal about a year before I joined my program. Just go the AANA website and look under publications...there is an application. It is pretty cheap, something like $40-50.
