Stuck on Heart Failure questions

Published

I have a few questions I couldnt figure out when I was studying... I need some help! Thanks

1. what puts the person with HF at risk for respiratory failure?

2. what are the support interventions for the family of the person on a ventilator?

3. The acronym MONA is commonly used to guide the treatment of chest pain: morphine, oxygen, nitroglycerin and aspirin. Explain how each of these interventions affect chest pain.

if you give us some idea of what you know already and how you found it, we'd be very happy to help fill in the gaps in your understanding. i have no doubt whatsoever that if you look up chf in your med/surg text you'll find a lot of that there.

InfoLink- Blood Flow Through the Heart

Heart failure refers to a large number of conditions which affect the structure or function of the heart, making it harder and harder for the heart to supply sufficient blood flow to meet the body's needs. It occurs when one or more of the heart's four chambers lose its ability to maintain proper blood flow. This can happen because the heart can't fill well enough with blood or because the heart can't contract strongly enough to propel the blood with enough force to maintain proper circulation. In some people, both filling and contraction problems can occur.
