I have a story to tell but mainly I need advice. I am am LPN in Hawaii and Colorado and LVN in California. I live in Hawaii. Last November I was approached by an agency - to take a 3 month contract in Corcoran SATF. Since I like correctional nursing and was not getting much work in Hawaii I took the contract. The contract clearly states that it is a 40 or more hour week but I have only had about 24 hours a week. The living stipend (they don't give apartment) is decreased for each hour less than forty. Even counting the stipend my earnings are only what they were last time I worked non travel.

Since the contract says 40 hours and the facility does not work me 40 hours I call every day someties more than once- I said I would work any yard, any shift- I think that the registry is violating the contract. I am staying in a motel here and my dog is in a kennel so my expenses are high.

I tried to contact the labor commisisson about this and was told that they don't enforce contracts. I want to go home, but I need the money I was to earn in the last month to finance that (I have to ship my jeep-was stored in CA)

Who do I contact to enforce this contract? Or do I? :banghead:

I'm guessing a business lawyer could look at your contract and give you advise. I'm stumped. Maybey you could contact a different agency, get a new contract someone around where you are?

Thanks anyway, not enough money in it for a lawyer and where I am is not where I live--- there is another agency putting nurses in the prison -my contract sez I can't do that --going home at earliest opportunity. I hope I can make enough to ship my car,

well i guess if there breaking thier contract you can to. Try to go with the other company
